During my tenure as Head of Earth Sciences at University College London, my major occupation was the renovation of the Kathleen Lonsdale Building, co-locating our department for the first time in living memory. We honored the completion of the 26 million pound, 5-year long project in 2018 with a grand re-opening event highlighted by the presence and the inspirational words of our guest or honor: Sir David Attenborough.
