What began as a small experimental project, the AI Poetry Challenge, has now evolved into a broader initiative: Poets Alumniyat, a community-driven platform for poets supported by AI.

This work sits at the intersection of technology, creativity, and community building, reflecting a growing interest in how AI can augment — rather than replace — human artistic expression.

From Experiment to Platform

The original AI Poetry Challenge was designed to investigate questions such as:

Can AI assist in poetic creativity?

How do poets respond to AI-generated suggestions?

What new forms of expression emerge from human–AI collaboration?

As participation grew, it became clear that the experiment addressed a deeper need:
poets were not only interested in AI tools, but also in connection, feedback, and community.

This realization led to the development of a new platform:

Poets Alumniyat: A Community-Centered Approach

Poets Alumniyat shifts the focus from isolated experimentation to ongoing engagement. The platform is designed to support poets through both community interaction and AI-powered tools.

Key features include:

A global poetry publishing platform

AI-assisted writing and analysis tools

Community interactions (likes, votes, comments)

Optional AI insights into poetic structure and style

A new focus on capturing the context behind each poem, encouraging authors to reflect on their creative process

This last feature is particularly important, as it strengthens both reader engagement and content discoverability.

Role of Artificial Intelligence

In this project, AI is treated as a creative collaborator rather than an autonomous creator.

It can:

Suggest phrasing and stylistic variations

Provide analytical feedback

Help poets experiment with new structures

However, the human voice remains central. The goal is not automation, but augmentation — expanding the range of creative possibilities available to poets.

Alignment with a Broader Mission

This initiative is part of a larger effort through the Alumniyat Foundation for Poetry & Arts, which focuses on promoting poetry, supporting artistic expression, and encouraging cross-cultural exchange through modern tools and community initiatives .

Looking Forward

The transition from the AI Poetry Challenge to Poets Alumniyat represents a shift:

From project → platform

From experiment → community

From tool → ecosystem

Future work will focus on:

Expanding community engagement features

Improving AI-assisted feedback systems

Encouraging broader international participation

Conclusion

Poetry has always adapted to new forms of expression — from oral traditions to print, and now to digital platforms enhanced by AI.

Poets Alumniyat is one attempt to explore this transition:
not by replacing the poet, but by supporting the poet within a connected, intelligent environment.

Introduction Over the past year, I have been exploring how artificial intelligence can interact with creative writing — particularly poetry.

[5

post-136","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-projects
["GET
