EPSS 103b, Sedimentary Petrology, is an upper level undergraduate course taught annually in the Fall. The course covers all aspects of sedimentary geology including clastic and chemical sedimentary rocks, depositional environments, sedimentary structures, and petrography. Students will learn to integrate all aspects of their geologic learning and apply the tools of sedimentology to understand and interpret depositional settings observed in the natural world. This class includes one 4-day field trip to explore sedimentary deposits in Death Valley National Park and its environs. For more information see a recent syllabus below.
